The Course of a Creative Life in Theater

As a wartime baby boomer, I recall my spontaneous answer to a question of “What do you want to be when you grow up?” "A writer. When I grow up, I want to be a writer.” It took 30 years to publish my first book, but since then I have made a life and a career from my writing, directing and producing in commercial theater.

Theater for me has been a spiritual pilgrimage, and in a way, I suspect that the best is yet to come. The signature piece has not yet been written or directed.

All that is past is prologue, Shakespeare knew. Every production brings with it new problems and possibilities. A chance to dig deeper into the shadows and mirrors within.

This website is offered to the public, with special thanks to my wife and creative partner in need, in seed and in deed, Vy Higginsen.
